Look here, friend. Have you heard of a jewel called the Star Diamond? It's an incredibly rare gem -- only 12 in existence. Well, I got a lead on one of them a while back. It was quite a bit of trouble... Heh, heh...
But the delivery is already four days late...! Ergh...
Hey, friend! Do you feel like taking on a job? Go find out why my jewel delivery is late. I'll make it well worth your while, so don't worry! I take care of everyone who does work for me. You won't regret it.
Good! Do you know Trader Reep of the weapons shop? He got the Star Diamond for me as my agent in Giran. That fellow is a master of bargaining, and so he got me a really nice price for the jewel. Go see him and ask him what's going on. If you show him this Contract, that scoundrel can't play innocent!
And tell him this ... if that no-good crook is planning to cheat me, I will not let him get away with it!
Quest steps
Collector Gouph of the Bronze Key Guild has purchased a rare star diamond from Trader Reep of the Silver Scales Guild. It is one of only twelve on the continent! Three days have past since the agreed-upon delivery date and Gouph is becoming impatient. He asks you to go to Trader Reep, retrieve the star diamond and bring it to him.
Trader Reep informs you that he gave the star diamond to Carrier Torocco to deliver to Gouph. Find Torocco and ask him about the diamond.
Torocco got drunk with Miner Maron last night and passed out. When he awoke, his weapons, armor, money and even the star diamond had been stolen! Find Maron and ask him what happened.
Carrier Torocco is usually quite trustworthy, but.when he starts drinking he inevitably starts gambling. He got drunk last night and lost everything he had in a dice game with Blacksmith Brunon. Could this mean that Blacksmith Brunon has the star diamond?
Indeed, Blacksmith Brunon won the star diamond in a dice game! He tells you that he will give it to you if you recover the aquamarine and chrysoberyl that were stolen by a goblin brigand lieutenant.
Collect: Aquamarine × 10, Chrysoberyl × 10
You have recovered the aquamarines and chrysoberyls that Blacksmith Brunon lost. Take them to him.
Brunon gives you the gem box he says he won in a dice game. Take it to Gouph.
The gem box doesn't contain the star diamond, only a strange looking piece of coal! Return to Blacksmith Brunon and demand an explanation!
The piece of coal once belonged to Warehouse Freightman Murdoc. Take the letter from Brunon to Murdoc and exchange it for the gem box that contains the star diamond.
The star diamond was eaten by a bat that Warehouse Keeper Airy keeps as a pet! The bat escaped out of an open window! Go quickly and speak with Airy!
Warehouse Keeper Airy asks you to find her pet, a blade bat. Kill the bat and get the diamond.
Collect: Star Diamond × 1
You finally recover the star diamond. Pray for the soul of the poor bat then take the star diamond to Collector Gouph.
